Camera Window

Privacy Policy

Camera Window is designed to show your camera locally, without collecting or sending your data anywhere.

What Camera Window does not collect

Camera Window does not collect or transmit camera video, microphone audio, snapshots, device identifiers, or usage data. It has no accounts, tracking, analytics, or telemetry.

Camera and microphone data

Live video and optional monitored audio are processed only on your device to provide the preview and audio-monitoring features. Camera Window does not upload, record, retain, or share those live streams.

Snapshots

A snapshot is created only when you choose Take Snapshot. Camera Window asks where to save the PNG and writes it only to the location you select. The app does not upload or keep another copy.

Settings stored on your Mac

Camera Window stores preferences locally using macOS UserDefaults. These settings include choices such as selected devices and formats, mirroring, audio mute, floating-window mode, toolbar display, and screen-saver prevention. They are not sent to us.

Permissions

Camera permission is required for the live preview. Microphone permission is used only if you use audio monitoring. You control these permissions in macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security.

Network access and external links

Camera Window has no account or network service. Help and Privacy Policy links open a web page only when you choose them; the app does not open those links or send a message in the background.

Third parties

Camera Window contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Deleting your data

Delete snapshots from the locations where you chose to save them. Camera Window has no server-side or account data to delete. Its settings remain in local macOS preferences until you remove that preference data as part of resetting the app; Camera Window does not offer an in-app reset control.
